Nice and affordable place to stay.

Staff is very kind and helpful, rooms are clean and simple and always has fresh linens on demand. It's by far anything fancy but it has what you "need" (mini fridge, t.v, air conditioning, heat, shower/tub, and sufficient lighting. Great place to stay if your looking for affordable without sacrificing comfort and cleanliness.

Quick and easy service for a fair price. The rooms are clean the sheets are clean the beds are nicely made and its peaceful and quiet. I come hear often and i never have any issues. They always have a room available the managment staff is nice.

great experience

I found this motel from an online search. Called late PM needing a pet friendly, outside entrance room for the next morning till evening. The lady was very pleasant and accomodating. She put me on the ground floor so I could walk right out to the yard. There is a huge mowed field behind the motel and a quiet, pretty, private courtyard that the rooms and covered walkway open onto. The one gentleman I spoke to was courteous and friendly. Bed was extremely comfortable and for me the room was very appealing. Very clean bed and bath. NO BUGS!!! Loved my stay.

Surprisingly Comfortable

For the price, location, and initial outside appearance of the Scottish Inns on the Hudson, I was a bit worried it would turn out to be dirty, dangerous, and uncomfortable. Was I wrong!! Scottish Inns on the Hudson is an excellent value for any traveler on a budget. The rooms are very clean. The beds are comfortably firm with linens that did not irritate my allergies, and had no lumpy spots. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice, as well. I have paid 4x's the price at higher rated hotels and not had as comfortable a stay as I did here.One suggestion for cold-weather travelers: Turn on the room heat when you check in so it's warm when you return to sleep at night. This place doesn't waste electricity by over-heating unused rooms (good for them), so give yourself a little time between check-in and going to bed to get the room to a comfy temperature.Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have easy access to picnic tables and benches outside.

Good for one inexpensive night in historic area

We booked this motel as the least expensive dog-friendly option in the Saratoga area (about 25 quick miles away) during Saratoga's opening weekend for the racing season --- the motel was clean, comfortable, spartan, and with the air conditioner running, white-noise-quiet. The wonderful surprise was the town in which the motel is sort-of located, Waterford, the oldest incorporated town in New York State, across the river from Troy, and at the junction of the Champlain and Erie Canals. Some tall locks are open to the public and there is a farmer's maket at the locks on Saturday. The town is certainly worth a visit to anyone interested in the development of the United States as it was from this area both the West and the North opened up thanks to the man-made waterways. My only "serious' complaint about Scottish Inns was there was no coffee maker in the room, but I was able to walk with my dog a few yards in the early morning to a nearby Stewarts Shop both for his benefit and a fresh cup of wake-up.

Good position for reasonably priced accommodation.

Our room was comfortable, clean & adequate but on the small side. The front office staff were helpful in dealing with our requests & we found the situation of the motel to be quiet & peaceful. Good value stay if you're in the area.
